Inside Doing Time & Making Signs!

In January 2010, I had the opportunity to visit the Enterprise Sign Shop operated
by the North Carolina Department of Corrections. The shop was in the process of
making the freeway guide signs for the Uptown Charlotte wayfinding program and
will be making the egress guides signs that are currently in design development stages.

Charlotte is building what may be one of the world’s most highly integrated urban wayfinding systems. Charlotte, North Carolina, has plenty of reasons to make sure people can find their way around the Queen City. Its 2010 Center City Vision Plan projects the downtown employee base will double in the next few decades to 100,000.
